Lights All Night Celebrates 10 Years at New Year’s Eve Bash

2020 brings the end of the first decade of the new Millenium, but the party is only just beginning. Lights All Night celebrates its 10th anniversary with the biggest out-of-body music experience capable of welcoming the New Year. The 2-Day festival takes place New Years Eve Weekend at the Dallas Market Hall on Friday and Saturday, December 27 and 28. General Admission and VIP tickets and packages are now on sale at www.lightsallnight.com.

This year, Lights All Night (LAN) gathers the musicians and producers of the millennium to celebrate the momentous anniversary. These artists marked the new wave of electronic dance music and represent the constantly evolving genre. Thus, headlining the stage on Day 1 of the festival is none other than producer and rockstar, Skrillex. But while the dubstep pioneer gained fame with hits like ‘Bangarang’ and ‘Kyoto’ in 2011, he is still releasing new music. Apart from his solo work, he also works under the name Jack U and Dog Blood in collaboration with Diplo and Boyz Noise, respectively. Skrillex also recently released several singles with artists such as Ed Sheeran, Ty Dolla $ign, and TroyBoi, and Lykke Li.

Sharing the spotlight on the first Day of the festival is GRAMMY nominated DJ and producer Porter Robinson, but not as himself. The 27-year-old presents his 90’s club-inspired mix under the moniker Virtual Self. In fact, the self-titled EP released in 2017 pleased fans with a nostalgic mix reminiscent of Japanese video game music.

So, If the first day already seems like enough to call it a year, you’re in for a surprise.

‘The Godfather,’ Bassnectar takes control of the stage on Day 2. The fourth installment in his Reflective EP series came earlier this year and features his signature hip-hop influence. Similarly appearing on the last day of the festival is Chicago-based duo Louis The Child, who released a few singles in anticipation of their debut album. Particularly, the pair recently collaborated with X Games to produce a new anthem for the games titled “Big Time.”

Especially among the acts performing throughout both nights of Lights All Night are Austin natives Tritonal. The duo are regarded as one of the most exciting acts to come out of Texas and have three studio albums under their belts, including U & Me which came out in June. Also appearing are Las Vegas-based electronic DJ 3LAU, dubstep producer Zomboy from the UK, and DJ Slushii. Furthermore, the list continues on through the night with performances by Kayzo, San Holo, Elephante, Herobust, and many more.

Out of This World Experience

Lights All Night sought to create an otherworldly experience where fans are free to be themselves. Considering the theme, the festival assembles designers and artists who create a whimsical setting, which evokes the fantastic reality of another dimension. In addition, installations and sculptures turn the monotony of moving through the festival into a surreal experience inspired by the music. However, fans can join in the fantasy by dressing with bright and eccentric clothing, aiming to be as expressive as the music itself. Some examples include holographic goggles or space-themed sweaters, for instance.

Actually, the curated list of the world’s top electronic and dance artists brings an opportunity to celebrate like never before. Moreover, with over 500 musical performers since the festival began in 2010, LAN is the ultimate end-of-the-year party. Since then, over 300,000 fans danced their way through the night into the New Year.

2019 marks the fifth consecutive year in which Dallas Market Hall hosts the LAN festival. Fans can make their way to the venue which is just minutes from downtown Dallas. After that, the various hotels located near the festival provide many options to spend the night. Above all, over these 10 short years, the biggest names in dance music including Tiësto, Gucci Mane, Kaskade, and many more shared in the legacy of the festival. As a result, more than 30,000 fans attended the 2-Day event in 2018, which quickly sold out.

Bright Stages and Chill Vibes

This year the festival returns with its classic 2-stage layout, which will host the top, acts from around the world. The Supernova stage features a wide-reaching LED light show that spans the length of a football field. Consequently, the light show visually wraps the audience in a web of flashing lights rhythmically tuned to the music. In contrast, the Intergalactic stage presents a more intimate visual style modeled after European clubs. Also, this year will see the return of the Silent Disco by Smooth Productionz. Furthermore, this event is a fan favorite and involves jamming out on the dance floor while wearing headphones.

But it the festival is not all big-time names. Two more stages will present music from dance music record labels and collectives. However, these are smaller sets to offer a more intimate experience, providing a rest from the main stage energy. In addition, The Night Bass Takeover stage features Night Bass Records, founded in 2019 by LAN veteran AC Slater. Particularly, the label brings underground acts from the UK Garage, House, and Grime scenes. Also, Brooklyn-based GRVDNCR leads the Gravedancer Takeover stage. Notably, Eric Silver who comes from the well-known System Recordings label heads this artist management company.

Aside from the diverse sets, fans can mingle and relax in newly redesigned areas for eating and hanging out. The festival added a large outdoor seating area centered around fire pits and a great selection of local food trucks. In addition, the mixed indoor/outdoor are equipped with various free water stations. Therefore, great food, great music, and great people will make this years Lights All Night festival an unforgettable one.
