Tesla’s Model Y is Now Available in the US, Canada, and Europe after its Launch in China

Following its original introduction in China a few weeks ago, Elon Musk’s Tesla (TSLA.O) unveiled a new, more expensive version of its best-selling car, the Model Y, in the US, Canada, and Europe on Thursday.
According to the company’s U.S. website, the most recent Model Y, which comes with a long-range all-wheel drive option, costs $59,990 in the United States. This is a 25% increase over the previous model, which was sold for $47,990.
The supervised complete self-driving software, which was previously available as an optional feature in prior Model Y models for $8,000, is now included in this new edition.
The new car will start to be delivered in March.
With this introduction, Tesla now sells four different Model Y models in the United States. The most costly model is the new one, which even costs more than the performance model.
According to Tesla, the new model also has upgraded interior features, a little longer range of 320 miles (515 km), and updated exteriors.
After its initial release in 2020, the Model Y became the best-selling automobile globally in 2023. Although the demand for electric vehicles has slowed in other countries, the ageing model saw a drop in sales momentum last year due to heightened competition from Chinese rivals.
