Samsung Unveils Galaxy A55 and A35 with Exynos Processors and OLED Screens

The Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G have officially been released on schedule. More than ever, the heirs of the most well-liked mid-range pair of 2023 are alike.

The Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 have a common display, a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and 1080×2340 pixels. They also have Samsung’s new Key Island design language and a 5,000mAh battery that supports 25W charging. However, the Galaxy A55’s metal frame differs from the Galaxy A35’s plastic one.

The Exynos 1480 SoC and AMD RDNA2-based Xclipse 530 GPU power the Galaxy A55 5G. It can be combined with 128 GB or 256 GB of storage and 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM. The Galaxy A35, on the other hand, makes due with the outdated Exynos 1380 that the Galaxy A54 employed. It still has a 5nm chipset, which should mean decent efficiency. The RAM and storage options are 6 GB or 8 GB and 128 GB or 256 GB, respectively.

A 32MP f/2.2 selfie camera, a 50MP f/1.8 main camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 12MP f/2.2 fixed-focus ultrawide camera, and a 5MP f/2.4 macro camera are all located on the back of the Galaxy A55.

A 13MP f/2.2 front-facing camera, a 50MP f/1.8 primary camera, an 8MP f/2.2 fixed-focus ultrawide shooter, and a 5MP f/2.4 macro unit are all included in the Galaxy A35 5G.

Samsung Knox Vault is available on the A series starting with the Samsung Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35. It is a physically separated secure execution environment from the processor and memory, based on hardware. It protects the most important information on your device, including patterns, passwords, and PIN codes used for the lock screen. The encryption keys on the phone are likewise safeguarded.

Additionally installed is Samsung’s standalone Knox, which comes with the optional Auto Blocker that can prevent the installation of dubious apps, check for malware, and block nefarious commands.

For the two new Galaxy A series phones, Samsung promises four years of significant OS updates and five years of security fixes. That’s still remarkable for a mid-ranger, even though it’s two years less than what the flagship series received.

The Galaxy A55 is available in 8/128GB and 12/256GB models, with the former costing €480 and the latter €530. The Galaxy A35 offers three trim levels: 6/128GB, which costs €380, 8/128GB, and 8/256GB, which costs €450.
