OPPO A60: Qualcomm Snapdragon 680, 6.7-inch 90Hz display, Five-megapixel camera – $299

The price and local availability of OPPO’s newest A series smartphone, the OPPO A60, have been revealed.

With 8GB of RAM, the low-cost A60 is powered by a 6nm Snapdragon 680 CPU. The RAM Expansion technology and 256GB of internal storage are standard on the OPPO A60. For a smoother user experience, it can temporarily augment RAM by up to 8GB from unused ROM memory. There is a microSDXC card slot for expanding the storage capacity.

Using OPPO’s 45W SuperVOOC fast-charging technology, the 5,000mAh battery-powered OPPO A60 can reach 50% charge in just 30 minutes, according to OPPO.

A 6.67-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1604 × 720 pixels, 950 nits of peak brightness, and a refresh rate of 90 Hz is powered by the battery.

The A60 boasts two cameras on its back: a 2MP portrait camera for up-close photos and a 50MP wide camera for general photography. It also includes an 8MP selfie camera. With features like dual-view video, AI portrait retouching, and portrait mode, you can use both cameras at once on the OPPO A60.

The OPPO A60 phone has a novel technology called splash touch, which allows the touchscreen to function precisely even in wet conditions—like rain or after hand washing.

Other notable features of the phone include

  • IP54 dust and splash resistant
  • Dual stereo speakers with ultra volume mode
  • Four years of optimal performance
  • ColorOS 14 with Trinity engine optimisation

The Poco C65 is going to give the OPPO A60 some serious competition. Along with a 6.7-inch display, 6GB or 8GB of memory, a huge 5,000mAh battery, and a 50MP primary camera, the C65 is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 processor. Still, it’s even more affordable, with starting pricing at S$169.

Pricing and availability

The OPPO A60 will retail for S$299 beginning on May 1. There are two shades available: Midnight Purple and Ripple Blue.
