In advance of its launch next year, Kia debuts its compact electric SUV called the EV3

Both the Kia EV3 small electric SUV and the EV4 electric sedan, which will be introduced in 2019, are expected to employ battery packs from the EV6.

At its EV Day in Korea, Kia presented three brand-new models: the production-ready EV5, the EV3 and EV4 concept cars. The enlarged EV range will begin at USD 30,000 (Rs. 24.96 lakh), and the Kia EV3 and EV4 will reportedly be positioned below the EV5 as the brand’s entry-level zero-emission vehicles in the worldwide markets as early as next year.

They are a component of Kia’s goals to sell 1,000,000 EVs by 2026. The midsize EV5 e-SUV will be followed by the more interesting Kia EV3, while the EV4 is an electric car with a coupe-like design. The flagship EV9, which is scheduled to launch in India next year, is rumored to be a smaller version of the EV3. All three models have futuristic looks based on the “Opposites United” design philosophy.

A unique profile is produced by the interior design treatment, which includes pushing the windscreen forward and having a long, sloping roofline. The wraparound windscreen and detached C pillar that connect the glasshouse surfaces and provide the appearance of a floating roof contrast with the squared wheel arches’ uneven angles.

According to Kia, the interior of the EV3 concept focuses functionality and sustainability. The dashboard’s captivating and clean shape and surface, developed using finely drawn character lines, are thought to improve the entire feeling. The use of environmentally friendly materials and the ergonomic seat design are further advantages.

The angles, lengths, and positions of the micro tables all rotate. The tables offer four customer experience-improving modes—Focus, Social, Refreshing, and Storage-along with the movement of the seats. Flexible and able to be folded upward, the rear bench seat can accommodate large items of luggage like bicycles and e-scooters.

The 58 kWh and 77.4 kWh battery packs featured in the EV6 will be included in the Kia EV3 and EV4’s production versions, which will be built on the E-GMP platform. It will be interesting to watch if or not both eventually travel to India.
