Post pandemic travel routine: UAE based startup ‘Urent’ boosts summer travel hopes

Right now, traveling in the Emirates is a trial for tourists and airlines alike. Unlike UAE, many other countries have various COVID-19 traffic-light systems, where those in green are considered safe and those in red to be avoided. But each nation is applying different rules and standards, making travel confusing for all.

Urent, a vehicle sharing company based in UAE has been playing a major role inj the transportation sector since last 6 months. The startup has seen a rapid 200-300% growth in revenue post-pandemic, outperforming its Canadian competitor – Turo.

Urent is an online marketplace that offers the opportunity for businesses & individuals to utilize & monetize their depreciating assets by listing their vehicles for rent.

Urent redefines mobility in the tech space, while enabling a platform that will help traditional vehicle rental companies shift their entire business online. Moreover, the hosts on Urent will be able to list their fleet (Cars, Yachts, Jetskis, Atv’s, Motorcycles, just to name a few) while having multiple in-app features (i.e My Garage, in-app wallets, and rating systems) & have their fleet listed to Renters who wish to rent their fleet on the platform.

The startup was founded by Omar Al Ashi and Gregorian Holt in 2018. And now, in just a span of 3 years, the startup is ruling the car rental industry in the UAE especially during this summer, where people look out for renting their own cars or yachts. Urent solves the problem for people to easily and seamlessly rent any kind of vehicle they need to enlighten their journey.
