Google made the decision to take strong measures against YouTube users who were using ad blockers while watching videos on the platform last year. Until the ad blocker is turned off, those who are blocking adverts are unable to view the video they have chosen. Google explained that blocking YouTube advertisements is against its terms of service. Despite Google’s efforts to enforce its terms of service, YouTube users can avoid playing advertisements in a number of ways.

If you want to watch videos on YouTube, you will need to either watch ads or get Premium. The use of ad blockers would be prohibited. For users with ad blockers installed, YouTube would halt playback until the blocker was uninstalled. This method was fairly effective at disabling many popular blocks.

Backlash Against Google

A significant outcry against Google for its tough stance against ad blockers has resulted from the move. While it’s true that ads help creators monetize their content, many users feel that Google’s actions are more self-serving than beneficial.

Taking down well-known ad blockers

Targeting well-known ad blockers like uBlock Origin and AdBlock, YouTube has now intensified its campaign against them. Once useful for avoiding YouTube advertisements, these techniques are no longer useful. Warnings are displayed to users who depend on these services, requesting that they turn off their ad blockers. These users occasionally experience the entire YouTube website going blank.

YouTube has now stepped up its effort against popular ad blockers, such as AdBlock and uBlock Origin. These methods, which were once helpful for avoiding YouTube ads, are now useless. Users who rely on these services are presented with warnings asking them to disable their ad blockers. Sometimes the entire YouTube page becomes black for certain individuals.
