The Pova 6 appears to be an Android 14 smartphone that will go on sale soon. It will likely have the same Ultra-Slim Bezel screen as its previously released Pro sister and a high-capacity battery with improved charging. However, several concessions have been made in order to make it the basic model of its series.
It appears like Tecno’s first Android smartphone with Dolby Atmos, the Pova 6 Pro, is set to make its triumphant return to the market alongside its standard version.
It is recognised as the basic Pova 6 by Malaysia’s SIRIM and the Google Play Console, and it has been approved as the LI7 by Thaliand’s NBTC (the Pro is the LI9).
The device’s front panel appears to be on display in that leak as well. Although it is not functional, it shares the same overall ~2.5D effect as the 6 Pro, which was created by Tecno to maintain the series flagship’s bezels at a constant 1.3 millimetres (mm).
According to the FCC, both the 6 Pro and the Pova 6 will combine Tecno’s most recent 70W Ultra Fast Charging technology with an appealing 6,000mAh battery. However, it appears that the OEM plans to swap out the relatively modern Dimensity 6080 SoC in the former with the MediaTek MT6789V/CD Helio G99 in the latter.
As a result, the 6—which has leaked with 8GB of RAM as opposed to the Pro’s up to 12GB—may very well be doomed to become a vanilla device due to the absence of 5G later in 2024. However, it will be interesting to see if it also makes its debut with a splash-proof Dynamic-Light Effect chassis that baits nothing.
