Another 5 Star rating from Global NCAP for the 2024 Tata Nexon on Crash Testing

Tata Motors is happy to announce that the nation’s best-selling SUV, the all-new Nexon (ICE), has received the prestigious 5-star rating from the Global New Car Assessment Programme (GNCAP) for both adult and child occupant protection (32.22/34 and 44.52/49 points, respectively). Tata Motors’ dedication to safety is further demonstrated by this outstanding achievement, as all of its new SUV vehicles now get the coveted 5-star GNCAP grade.

Adult Safety in 2024 Tata Nexon:

The 2024 Tata Nexon’s strong safety features and structural integrity were reinforced when it received an outstanding adult safety score of 32.22 out of 34.00. The comprehensive analysis of the frontal hit indicated that the driver and passenger had received excellent protection. It was determined that the head and neck were well protected, and that the chest had enough shielding. To add to the overall excellent performance, the driver and passenger’s knees and tibias were both well-protected.

The head, stomach, and pelvis showed good protection in the side impact study, while the chest obtained adequate shielding. The side pole impact test demonstrated the conventional curtain airbags’ efficiency by offering adequate protection for the abdomen, mediocre protection for the chest, and good protection for the head and pelvis.

The Tata Nexon’s bodyshell was given a stable rating, demonstrating its resistance to further loads. The vehicle met with the most recent Global NCAP standards and performed well in the test because it was equipped with standard Electronic Stability Control (ESC). All seating positions included standard seat belt reminders (SBRs) that met with regulations, which helped the Nexon earn an exceptional 5-star safety rating.

Safety of Children in Tata Nexon 2024:

Tata Motors gave kid safety first priority when designing the 2024 Nexon, as shown by the vehicle’s impressive 44.52 out of 49.00 rating in the child safety category. Both the 3-year-old and the 18-month-old’s child seats were placed rearward-facing for the frontal impact test with the use of i-size anchorages and a support leg. The findings showed almost complete protection, shielding the youngest passengers’ heads and guaranteeing their safety.

The Child Restraint Systems (CRS) provided complete protection in the side impact examination, highlighting Tata Nexon’s dedication to ensuring children’s safety in a variety of accident circumstances. The vehicle’s kid safety measures are further improved by the standard installation of three-point belts in all seating positions.

Additionally, when a rearward-facing CRS is placed in the front passenger position and satisfies safety criteria, customers of the Tata Nexon have the option to disconnect the passenger airbag. The fact that the CRS installation was successful for every position highlights Tata Motors’ commitment to providing the greatest possible level of kid protection.

With great delight, Mr. Mohan Savarkar, Chief Product Officer of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, said, “We are proud to earn the prestigious 5-star rating from Global NCAP for the new Nexon as per the enhanced 2022 protocol. Safety is ingrained in our DNA.” It continues the tradition of being the first vehicle in India to earn a 5-star rating from GNCAP in 2018, demonstrating our steadfast dedication to quality and innovation.
