For those who depend on robust 5G connectivity, the iPhone 16 Series emerges as the top contender. A recent analysis by Ookla highlights that the latest iPhone models deliver the fastest 5G speeds in India, outpacing their predecessors and leading Android competitors. This achievement further cements Apple’s reputation for superior network performance.

Ookla, renowned for its Speedtest.net platform, examined data from speed tests conducted between September 20 and October 2, soon after the iPhone 16 became available in retail markets. Covering 11 countries, including India, the analysis revealed that the iPhone 16 Series achieved the highest median 5G download and upload speeds. In India, these speeds surpassed those of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Series, reaffirming Apple’s technological strides in this domain. The new iPhones also outperformed the two previous generations, reflecting substantial improvements in network capabilities.

The credit for this performance goes to the Snapdragon X75 5G modem integrated into the iPhone 16 Series. Although this modem is also used in the Galaxy S24 Ultra powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Apple’s models demonstrated better results. Furthermore, the iPhone 16 models delivered superior speeds compared to the Galaxy S24 variants equipped with the Exynos 2400 processor, establishing their dominance in network performance.

Globally, the iPhone 16 continued its streak of exceptional 5G speeds in regions such as Taiwan, Belgium, France, Germany, and other European nations. The only notable exception was the Philippines, where the Galaxy S24 Series marginally outperformed Apple’s latest offering. While the difference in speeds between devices may not be dramatic, the iPhone 16 Series consistently delivers a more stable and reliable 5G experience across various regions.

Although the Snapdragon X75 is pivotal in this achievement, Qualcomm has already introduced the more advanced Snapdragon X80 modem, featured in the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. Nevertheless, the iPhone 16 Series stands out as the best option for those seeking unmatched 5G connectivity, further enhancing Apple’s standing as a leader in cutting-edge mobile technology.
