No chance for Salaar to break Leo Overseas’ opening

Salaar doesn’t have a chance to stop Leo from opening overseas. The release date of Salaar, starring Prabhas and Prashanth Neel, is commonly known to occur on December 22nd. Although the trend is positive, Salaar has no chance of surpassing Leo’s international debut as the movie’s international bookings just opened.

In addition to setting a Kollywood record opening on day one with 8 million plus, Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo also became the Non-SSR record opener overseas. Before the postponement, Salaar’s international popularity was increasing, and everyone anticipated an opening on level with Rajamouli films abroad.

However, the trend is not as strong as it was previously. Salaar will deliver great numbers, as previously stated, and the bookings are high, but it now appears impossible to attain numbers in the region of Baahubali 2, RRR, and Leo.

This year, Prashant Neel and Prabhas should try to become the first overseas openers to break Leo, enter this club, and become the best combination. However, the buzz and promotional materials failed to create the necessary excitement to get the movie into the previously mentioned club, and it faces competition from major Hollywood releases like Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom.

Salaar won’t have the most major release like the previous day because it will also compete with the Indian movie Dunki. Therefore, the film has not much chance of beating Leo and becoming the top overseas opener of the year. Leo is probably going to stay the top opener for the international team this year.

With Prabhas in the lead role, the film is an action-packed drama that has taken more than two years to complete. With this film, Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran is slated to make his Telugu film debut. The other actors in the movie include Jagapati Babu, Eshwari Rao, Sriya Reddy, and Shruti Haasan.

On December 22, 2023, the film, which was directed by Prashanth Neel, will be released in a number of languages, including Hindi.
