The renamed XR21 smartphone has been released in Europe by Finnish smartphone manufacturer HMD Global, after the debut of the Pulse smartphone series. Recall that earlier in the year, HMD Global unveiled the Nokia XR21 smartphone. The company also introduced the HMD T21 tablet in addition to the HMD XR21 smartphone.

The HMD XR21 smartphone costs 599.99 euros and is available in Midnight colour variants.

Conversely, the HMD T21 tablet is available in Black Steel colour variants and costs 299.99 Euros. In Europe, both gadgets are now on sale.

HMD XR21 specifications

The HMD XR21 sports a chassis made of durable materials and 100% recyclable aluminium. It has an IP68 waterproof rating, MIL-STD 810H military-grade certification, and IP69K certification for dust, water, and drop protection.

With a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera positioned in the centre, this 6.49-inch LCD screen offers Full HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 550 nits of peak brightness. The Gorilla Glass Victus shield keeps the screen responsive even when it’s wet or handled with gloves on. The smartphone also has two customisable buttons and a fingerprint scanner positioned on the side.

The HMD XR21 is powered by a Snapdragon 695 CPU, which has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. In terms of optics, it has two rear cameras: an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 64MP main sensor, and an LED flash. There is a 16 MP front-facing camera for taking selfies and making video calls.

A 4,800mAh battery with 33W rapid charging capabilities powers the gadget. It has the Android 12 operating system pre-installed.

HMD T21 tablet specifications

The 10.36-inch 2K LCD display on the HMD T21 tablet has a brightness of 400 nits and is protected by reinforced glass. With a sleek, Nordic-inspired design, it has an IP52 rating that protects it from dust and splashes. Its sandblasted aluminium body contains 60% recycled plastic.

The tablet is powered by a UniSoc T612 Octa-Core CPU with 4GB of RAM and runs Android 11 with a warranty of three years for security upgrades and two years for operating system updates. It has a large 8200 mAh battery that can sustain 15W of charging; however, a 10W charger is included in the package, so it can last for three days.

The HMD T21 is available in Wi-Fi and 4G versions, with voice calling supported on the latter. It has an 8MP front camera for video calls and selfies, as well as an 8MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash. It also has a 3.5mm audio connector, two microphones with OZO audio technology, and stereo speakers.
