Halfway through the fourth quarter, the Crimson Tide rallied, cutting the deficit to five points with a basket by Zaay Green with 7:11 remaining. Later, South Carolina took the lead by nine points and won the game with a 12–2 run in the last four minutes.

The Gamecocks’ freshman Joyce Edwards had a fantastic evening, scoring a career-high 21 points on 7 of 10 shooting.

With 16 points, MiLaysia Fulwiley trailed Edwards. Chloe Kitts finished with 10 points and 13 rebounds, while Te-Hina Paopao scored 11 points after that.

Alabama led the Crimson Tide in scoring for the evening with 15 points apiece from Zaay Green and Essence Cody.

Despite being one of the nation’s top 3-point shooting teams, the Crimson Tide had a rough night.

The Crimson Tide were only 4 for 22 on the evening, despite averaging 8.8 long-range baskets a game.
