Samsung Upgrades Older Galaxy Phones with AI and LOG Features
In South Korea, Samsung has begun releasing the stable One UI 7 update, starting with the Galaxy S24 series. The update adds a number of new camera-centric features in addition to general enhancements to enhance photography and videography experiences, particularly for users who like to explore the creative possibilities of their phones.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Gets Pro-Level LOG Video Recording Support
Support for LOG video recording is one of the update’s most notable enhancements. LOG mode, which enables users to record videos using a logarithmic color profile, is frequently utilized in professional video production. Even though the original film might seem flat and desaturated, it has a greater dynamic range and more clarity in the highlights and shadows, which makes it perfect for color grading and post-processing.
At the moment, only the Galaxy S24 series has this feature. Under the Advanced video settings in the Camera app, users can activate it. Samsung has included a shoot assist feature with an exposure monitor to help maximize footage shot in this mode, providing greater control in Pro Video mode.

AI-powered improvements to the camera are also included in the upgrade. One UI 7 has artificial intelligence-generated bespoke filters that automatically adjust to the lighting and surroundings in every picture. The update now includes Motion Photos, which is Samsung’s version of Apple’s Live Photos. The Camera app’s bottom panel has been updated by Samsung to provide faster access to key options including grid lines, exposure value, and more. Audio Eraser, one of the latest AI-powered tools, allows users to edit or eliminate annoying background noises in movies, like wind or ambient noise.
Additional features include Auto Trim, Portrait Studio, and multi-mask editing, which provide users more control over their content while streamlining post-processing.
