Samsung has revealed that its Good Lock software will be available on the Google Play Store and in all areas once the company’s One UI 7 user interface, which is built on Android 15, is released. Without rooting the device, Samsung Good Lock is a tool that enables extensive customising of the user interface of a Samsung smartphone.
Although Good Lock is already available for Samsung Galaxy smartphones, it is limited to select regions and only available through the Galaxy Store. However, the South Korean technology giant, in a community post, has explained, “Starting with One UI 7.0 Good Lock, Good Lock can be downloaded from the Play Store as well as the Galaxy Store, and Good Lock can be used in all countries.”
In essence, Good Lock is a suite of applications that lets users alter several parts of Samsung’s One UI. Modules that allow for customisation of various UI elements are utilised by Good Lock. For instance, the Home Up module may be used for the share menu, applications screen, home screen, and more, while the LockStar module can be used to modify the lock screen. Additionally, there are modules to force any program to run on a foldable device’s cover screen and customise gesture controls.
Samsung is updating the Good Lock software in addition to making the function more widely available. According to Samsung, the next version will feature a new UI for added ease. In addition to a new “My Page,” which will let users manage their customisation settings, the updated interface will have filters for locating particular modules.
On January 22, Samsung is scheduled to formally introduce One UI 7 along with the eagerly awaited Galaxy S25 series.
