OpenAI Releases a Cutting-Edge AI Tool to Simplify Complicated Research

“Deep Research,” a new artificial intelligence application from OpenAI, is intended to help users with time-consuming internet research chores. This application adds to OpenAI’s collection of AI agents, which may be used for everything from sophisticated scientific research to vehicle suggestions.
Currently, OpenAI’s ChatGPT online chatbot makes the service accessible to a limited number of paying clients. According to user instructions, “Deep Research” may search web text, photos, PDF files, and user-uploaded documents to produce thorough reports. This technology, which OpenAI compares to a research analyst, can finish tasks that would normally take a person hours in just a few minutes.
After launching “Operator,” which helps users with grocery ordering, flight booking, and shopping, last month, OpenAI has now released its second AI agent of the year. Only users who have purchased OpenAI’s most recent ChatGPT Pro plan, which costs $200 a month, can access both products.
These technologies’ release represents a larger industry trend towards AI agents, which can do multi-step jobs with little oversight. Microsoft (MSFT, Financial), a proponent of OpenAI, and rival Anthropic have also created their own agent software, and other startups have followed suit. These businesses seek to deliver on AI’s promise of increased productivity by saving users time on both personal and professional duties.
AI agents will be the “next big breakthrough” in artificial intelligence, according to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. OpenAI cautions that as “Deep Research” is still in its infancy, it may mix together factual and fictional information and find it difficult to distinguish between rumours and factual information. The program is also resource-intensive, with a monthly cap of 100 searches for first users.
Although a date has not been revealed, OpenAI intends to expand the service to other paying clients, such as those who have purchased its Plus, Team, or Enterprise subscriptions.
