How do I get to Matheran by bus?

Matheran can be reached via Mumbai-Pune Highway and Karjat. State transport buses from Mumbai, Pune and Panvel run regularly to Matheran. Buses can be availed till Neral. From there toy train is available to Matheran.

How To Reach Matheran by Train

The closest railhead to Matheran is in Neral (21 kilometres). You can get on the Deccan Express from Mumbai or the Sahyadri Express from Pune; both ply every day. From Neral you will have to go to Matheran by road, which is a 30-minute journey. Many local trains on the Mumbai-Karjat route also stop at Neral.
